Selling via the Internet, growing the portrait market pose challenges in France, too

Article Abstract:

Photographers and photofinishing service in France confront many of the problems faced by their counterparts in other countries. Pitiot Photo Video, for example, encountered many challenges in embracing digital imaging technology in 1997 while it was still a nascent market. It is also exploring the Internet, which it believes will be a tremendous growth channel for independent retailers. Photo Cristophe, on the other hand, has adopted a proactive attitude toward re-energizing the stagnant portrait market in France.
