Senate panel funds DD(X) ship, FCS In e05

Article Abstract:

The Senate Armed Services Committee (SASC) voted to fund the DD(X) program by the year 2005, as President George Bush requested to provide the full $3.2 billion that was kept aside for the Army's Future Combat System (FCS). The SASC version of the defense authorization bill for the fiscal year ending on September 30, 2005 would authorize $1.5 billion for the DD(X) project.

Officials seek 'what is important' for Army in 2007 budget

Article Abstract:

The US Army might receive good funds in the upcoming federal budget proposal for fiscal year 2007. The President George W. Bush administration has provided good funding for near term sustainment requirements, but the officials will have to plan properly in order to replace the equipment worn out in operations in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Overwork, technology have hurt army, experts say

Article Abstract:

Experts at a Washington forum stated that the US President Bush administration's policies in force deployment and over reliance o technology to transform the military have hurt the Army. During the event, the analysts focused on the overwork of the US Army especially during the operations in Afghanistan and Iraq.
