Stable transformation of Erysiphe graminus, an obligate biotrophic pathogen of barley

Article Abstract:

Powdery mildew, Erysiphe graminis f.sp. hordei, is an obligate biotropic pathogen. It can not complete its life cycle unless it has a living host. Understanding its life cycle and pathogenicity have been hindered by a failure to transform this fungus and manipulate its genome.
