Shopping in cyberspace: will new digital certification methods soothe consumer's lack of trust in electronic payment systems?

Article Abstract:

Digital certfication is expected to increase the use of the Internet as a place of commerce, providing a new measure of security for online transactions. Some of the recent developments in the field calls for two keys to effect a validation of the transaction process, a private code for the user and a public access key for the vendor to validate the user's account. While this system is expected to increase transaction security, it may cause some deterioration in service due to the high requirement for memory space of the verification process.

Without a net

Article Abstract:

Corporations are still apprehensive about the use of the Internet due to the uncertainty involved in security. Unauthorized use of computer systems and data leaks remain a reality with many external and internal risks involved such as outside intrusion and human error. Security leaks can be minimized or prevented through measures such as frequent password changes, close guarding of network services, monitoring of security violations, and the use of encryption systems to protect important information.
