The DualCam is a digital camera that can produce VGA resolution still images and also operate a tethered video conferencing camera. On the other hand, the 2.1-megapixel Sipix SC-21000 is equipped with a 1,600-by-1,200-pixel CCD sensor, optical viewfinder and 1.8-inch LCD monitor, and built-in flash.

Foveon Inc of Santa Clara, CA, has unveiled the Foveon II Digital Studio Camera. The camera, which retails for $23,900, is offered either with a laptop dock or tethered operation with a desktop cpmputer using a FireWire interface. The Foveon II incorporated three CMOS image sensors, each of which separately records R, G, or B images of the subject using a prism- based capture system inside the camera.
