Article Abstract:

The fusion of two complementarity-determining regions (CDRs), [V.sub.H]CDR1 and [V.sub.L]CDR3, through a cognate framework region ([V.sub.H]FR2) has produced mimetics that have retained the antigen recognition of their parent molecules, but have a superior capacity to penetrate tumors. The rational recombination of selected [V.sub.H]/[V.sub.L] binding sites and their framework regions have provided useful moieties for cytotoxic cancer therapies.

An experiment using the vaccinia virus containing the TAP gene demonstrated that it can reduce tumors and its inclusion in cancer therapies should be considered.
