Software reduces risk of hard landing

Article Abstract:

UK investors can use software to help them take decisions when investing in options. They can use modules that are part of other software packages which assess share price volatility. These modules may be expensive taking the total cost of the package into account, and data is an extra cost. Cheaper packages are available and shareware can be obtained through the Internet. There are also 'add-ins' which use a standard program for spreadsheets like Excel from Microsoft.

The price is right, and so's the software

Article Abstract:

UK investment software is dropping in price, partly due to competition from software which can be downloaded at the lower prices found in the US. There is a wide range of inexpensive software including software that focuses on portfolio movements and products that focus on charting. Investors should first assess the software they plan to buy by trying it out. They may be able to offset the charge for demo disks against the price of the software when they buy it.

Spoilt for choice: the number and range of software packages aimed at private investors has grown at a phenomenal rate, making the decision to purchase that bit more complicated

Article Abstract:

The number of investment software packages available has multiplied with investor awareness of their use. When purchasing a package there should be certain considerations, such as whether the operating system is IBM compatible, the amount of system memory and hard drive space a package will absorb and the choice between Windows or DOS.
