Article Abstract:

The synthesis, magnetic properties, heat capacity, multitemperature crystal structure, and 20 K X-ray charge density of a new manganese-based metal-organic framework (MOF), Mn3(C8O4H4)3(C5H11ON)2 are reported. The topological measures carried out shows that the dominant metal-ligand interactions to be electrostatic, and a simple exponential correlation are derived between Mn-O bond lengths.

Article Abstract:

The synthesis, X-ray structure, magnetic properties, and DFT calculations of [{HC(CMeNAr)2}Mn]2 (Ar = 2,6-iPr2C6H3), the first complex with three-coordinate manganese(I) are reported. The magnetic investigations show a rare example of a high-spin manganese(I) complex with an antiferromagnetic interaction between the two Mn(I) centers.

Article Abstract:

A new method is used for the convergent total synthesis of brevetoxin B. In this method the intramolecular allylation of the O,S-acetal, prepared from the alpha-chlorosulfide and the alcohol, was carried out by using AGOTf as a Lewis acid to give the respective diene.
