Texaco tests e-commerce 'i-TM' network

Texaco is testing a network of Texaco-branded, Internet-enabled, personal computer-based automated teller machines (ATM) that it plans to install in street corners across the US. The company's 'i-TMs' will act as electronic salesmen in delivering a range of services to customers. They constitute an extension of Texaco's electronic commerce efforts to the ATM channel. The i-TM network will sell licensed merchandise, such as trucks, caps and jackets, from an electronic multimedia retail catalog.

The entire RIMMEL line of more than 200 products will be featured in a single fixture at these departments. The offerings for eyes, lips, face and nails reflect London, UK's unique, avant-garde, eclectic culture that has always been influenced by music, art and street life. The RIMMEL brand operates under Coty Inc, which hopes to expand its share of the US cosmetics market.

Seven-Eleven Food Stores of Dallas, TX, and American Express Co, have launched a new prepaid Gift Card that can be used to make purchases just about anywhere that American Express Cards are accepted in the US. The cards are sold at 7-Eleven Stores and are used like an merican Express credit card or charge card. The Gift Cards can be loaded with any whole dollar value from $25 to $1000 and can be reloaded with additional funds.
