The Americans sell Vulkan five days after they bought it

Vulkan (Hradek nad Nisou, Czech Republic), rubber products company, has changed its owner again. In mid Apr 2001 the company had a 54.15% stake acquired by Telnet (US) for CEK 15.3 mil. Several days later Telnet sold 33.6% of shares to J&T Banka (Czech Republic) and 20.6% to Galston Investments. Vulkan controls 65% of the domestic condom market and about 50% of the local medical gloves market. Besides, it also manufactures household gloves, baby pacifiers, rattles, and rubber caps. The firm exports more than 50% of its production to 40 countries, mostly to Germany, Russia, Poland and Slovakia. Vulkan saw proceeds of CEK 262.72 mil in 2000 compared to CEK 250.655 mil in 1999. In 2000 it saw a loss of CEK 2.312 mil, having generated a profit of CEK 1.351 mil in 1999. The 1999 loss was caused mainly by the repricing of goods on stock. Vulkan has 352 employees and a stock of CEK 178.769 mil.

The condom manufacturer Vulkan is bought by the Americans

Vulkan (Hradek nad Nisou, Czech Republic), manufacturer of latex-based rubber goods, has had a 54.15% stake acquired by Telnet (US). Telnet paid CEK 15.3 mil for the majority stake in Vulkan. Vulkan controls a 65% share on the domestic condom market and a 50% share on the sanitary glove market. The firm exports more than 55% of its production to 40 countries, mainly to Germany, Russia, Poland and Slovakia. Vulkan realized contracts worth CEK 262.72 mil in 2000. In 2000 it saw a loss of CEK 2.312 mil for the reason of the overvaluation of goods on stock. The firm has 352 employees.

Olza sells millions of Pepino condoms

Article Abstract:

Olza Trading (Cesky Tesin, Czech Republic), condom manufacturer, sold 6 mil condoms worth a total of CEK 51 mil on the Czech market in 2000. The volume is 10% higher compared to 1999. Olza Trading has been the owner of the trade mark Pepino since 1993. The firm estimates to have a 28% share on the domestic condom market.
