The Basic Components of Network Planning and Development

Article Abstract:

A basic program for planning and implementing network communica- tions systems is given. First, the user must determine data communications needs and locations. A map should be developed to track the communications routes. Next, the patterns of activity should be analyzed. Peak hour activity is also noted. Network modeling is the next step in the process. If the network contains more than ten locations, a network management system is recommended. The implementation is the next step. It requires careful planning and execution. Network planning is very similar to all planning activities in business.
