The use of E-mail in the company is creating numerous problem for the risk managers. E-mail, now a common business tool, can cost a company millions of dollars in discrimination lawsuit damages, especially when used to send unwelcome remarks. Moreover, strict policing and too much monitoring can also lead to litigation when the privacy of the employee is violated. Inefficient E-mail policies can also result in a number of liabilities, including employment practices, individual harassment and confidential information venturing into the public domain.

Article Abstract:

Cuba is planning to use the euro, EU's single currency unit, in conducting all of its European transactions beginning Jul 1, 1999. The move presents several ramifications not only for Cuba but also for the US and the dollar. For one, Cuba's adoption of the euro would allow it to circumvent the US economic sanctions and provide a means to centralize its trade payments. These developments may undermine the dollar's dominance as a reserve currency in international markets as well as the US's foreign policy.
