Handicapping the vendors

Article Abstract:

The 1999 biennial risk survey sponsored by Treasury and Risk Management magazine highlighted the growing trend towards consolidation in the banking industry. Among the banks surveyed, Citigroup recorded the highest points in rendering instruments and advice for liability management. Formed by the merger of Citicorp and Travelers Group, Citicorp moved two notches higher from its previous standing in 1997. Merger activities also gave way for some new companies in the list, including Deutsche Bank and ABN Amro.
