The art of pitching to reporters

Article Abstract:

The reason why PR people fail in stimulating coverage, to convert the organization's publicity to news outlet's news is because of the lack of newsworthiness. Ten top tips are given for the proper pitching protocol. These include, stressing uniqueness, localize the story, cite affiliation, celebrities, highlighting the numbers, conflicts, conform to the news outlet's style, know the style of the news outlet, persistence, and importance of building relationships.

Focusing on "Return on Investment" (ROI) denigrates the value of current media content analysis by implying that measures in use today are of little or no value outside the communication department.
