Share dealing hots up

Article Abstract:

Edward Jones and Halifax are investing in the expansion of their stock dealing services. Edward Jones plans to open 20 offices in the UK in 1998 and aims to be among the ten biggest brokers geared to private clients. The company is focusing on private clients who seek advice on stock dealing but do not wish to use a porfolio manager. Halifax, meanwhile, aims to handle all UK stocks rather than simply Halifax stocks, and is recruiting more staff for this expansion.
