The biotech company view

Article Abstract:

The present state of antibiotic drug development is a process in transition as many large pharma companies have withdrawn from major discovery efforts to identify new classes of drugs to address the growing problem of antimicrobial drug resistance. Smaller biotech companies, however, are able to attract the capital investment to continue the discovery of new antimicrobial drugs.

The U.S. market is representing the best way to financial success for most of the biotech and pharmaceutical companies, thereby making it a necessity for most of them to set up a U.S. location. The companies will have to consider the cost consequences and value drivers as part of a global execution strategy before setting up a U.S. base.
