The cabinet's Better Relation Executive has asked the European Commission to help put forward quality proposals for simplifying regulations. It is not enough to look to politicians to put things right, but surely, this is an opportunity for chartered accountants to help themselves, and the best relations were described as the ones where the business felt their accountant was proactive, positive and knowledgeable about the business, offering value for money beyond mere price.

PwC moves to limit damage from Japan crisis

Article Abstract:

Japanese Financial Services Agency has handed a two-month auditing ban to PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) in Japan after it was entangled in an accounting fraud at cosmetics titan Kanebo. PwC plans to set up a new, independent audit firm, a member of its international network, in Japan to limit the damage caused due to the fraud.
