Securitisation: an international perspective

Article Abstract:

Securitization is one of the most significant developments that have emerged in international finance since the 1970s. The technique involves marketable securities which are supported by anticipated cash flows from specific assets. Securitization, however, is edged out by other financial intermediation approaches outside of the US. It is thus widely speculated whether a growth in securitization will be realized by other member-countries of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development in the coming years.
