UK tax exempt special savings accounts (Tessas) have shown a wide range of performance in the five years to 1996. Fixed-rate Tessas have tended to perform well as interest rates have dropped. Fixed-rate Tessas account for the best five Tessas in terms of performance. Smaller building societies have also tended to perform well, while larger companies argue that they provide greater security which is why their products do not perform as well.

The aims of Marc de Jordy, one of the team behind Canada's bid to launch a manned reusable rocket into sub-orbit, are discussed. The group will launch a 20ft rocket from a hot-air balloon at 40,000 ft. in an international competition.
