The state will take over the damped part of OKD for a symbolic price

Article Abstract:

OKD (Ostrava, Czech Republic), coal firm, will transfer its Odra plant to the state mining firm Diamo (Straz pod Ralskem, Czech Republic). The transfer of the plant, which is included in a state damping programme, has been agreed by the Czech government for a symbolic price of CEK 1. Besides, the transfer has been preliminarily agreed by Karbon Invest (Kladno, Czech Republic), which holds a 49.99% stake in OKD. The worth of the transferred property has not been reported. The state will release CEK 24.3 bil for the coverage of social and health costs by 2032 and another CEK 17.5 bil for the technical part of the damping by 2015 within the damping of OKD's mining.

Obi plans to have 30 shops in the Czech Republic

Article Abstract:

Obi CR (Prague, Czech Republic), retailer, will commission a new shop in Prague-Roztyly on 11 May 2001. The firm plans to operate a total of 30 shops in the Czech Republic by 2005-2006. It has 14 shops inland currently and plans to commission another three shops in the Czech Republic in 2001. Obi CR expects proceeds of CEK 6 bil in 2001, 20% more compared to 2000. In the Czech Republic, Obi has 1,200 employees. The firm sells mainly do-it-yourself and amateur gardening goods.
