The impact of managing director changes and financial distress on audit qualification and auditor switching

Article Abstract:

Analysis of the relationship between changes in managing directors and chief executive officers, financial distress, and audit opinions and auditor switching, is presented. The study is based on trends observed between 1987 and 2001 in 297 listed companies in United Kingdom.

The 'Independence' of expert opinions in corporate takeovers: agreeing with directors' recommendations

A study examining whether the expert opinions provided by auditors of target companies in takeover transactions are truly the independent opinions of the auditors is presented. The study is based on Australian takeovers.
