The riddle of the euro

Article Abstract:

Multinationals with businesses in 11 European countries have established efficiency in cash management of Europe's new currency and have achieved lower transaction costs. Europe's one currency system makes possible to deposit money in one bank and earn more interest. Companies such as EMC Corp. and Hopkinton, Mass have engineered operations to exploit the Euro currency. EMC Corp. increased profit to $4 billion while Hopkinton saved $250,000 in one year using euro in cash management while others contest euro's transaction fees and weak system settlements.

Oracle rethinks due diligence in Asia

Article Abstract:

The experience of many companies involved in the Asian financial crisis has made software maker Oracle reconsider its financial planning processes. The company is now adjusting hiring and expansion plans to incorporate due diligence findings about the region. Company CFO Jeffrey Henley maintains that Oracle and others seeking to invest in the region should be more sensitive to credit analysis to prevent a similar crisis from occurring again.
