The rise and fall of Thailand's technocrats

Article Abstract:

Thailand has seen a massive turnover in the bureaucratic personnel overseeing its financial industries between Feb 1996 and Feb 1997. Federal bureaucrats have used their positions as financial regulators to enrich themselves. This mentality led to the poor oversight that has led to the crippling of the Thai financial system.
