Too busy to learn?

Article Abstract:

Research indicates that senior business executives are strongly convinced of the benefits of management training for the individual as well as the company. Unfortunately, surveys show that managers are working harder and putting in longer hours, and have little time to spare for identifying their training needs, much less attend long training and development programs. One study found that over half of all executives frequently work in the evenings and that nearly 40% work during weekends. In another survey, 90% of the respondents claimed that stress is having a negative impact on their work effectiveness, health, morale and relationships. Time/system offers a solution to this problem. Its 'Business System' product provides a short training course in planning, time management and work prioritization. It comes in both paper-based and software forms.

Members only

Article Abstract:

Mar Reagon promotes parties in New York that cater to the entire cross-section of the city's diverse ethnic composition. Her experience shows that the racial mixing of nightlife that occurred in the pre-AIDS boom of the mid-1980s has been replaced by selective ethnic segregation.
