Trade pubs tread cautiously in weighing move to Web
Article Abstract:
Publishers of trade books and journals have been very cautious in establishing a World Wide Web site because of their unfamiliarity with high technology. However, having no online presence poses significant disadvantages for such publishers. They are in danger of having non-publication Web sites dealing with the same industry capture a substantial portion of their market. Online discussion groups are an even greater threat because they can allow customers of the same interests to be in contact.
