The company benefits from a license awarded in 1995 and lasting to 2016 from the United Kingdom Department of Transport. The company also has patents lasting 12 years. The announcement of an alliance with Mannesmann was followed by a stock price rise for Trafficmaster. The group has a near monopoly which should be strengthened by agreements with automobile producers in 1999.
