Split capital trusts are attracting investors who are often attracted by high yields available from income shares. Trusts investing in other income shares may offer particularly high yields. A sustained bear market will affect any investor using geared shares, including split capital trusts and split funds of funds. Investors need to feel that equity markets will be strong over the medium term before they commit themselves.
