U.S. Postal Service tests self-service kiosk

Article Abstract:

Northrop Grumman and Neopost Online will start testing the first browser- based self-service kiosk for online postage vending in the US. The kiosk will be run on Neopost Online's Simply Postage technology, and will have a touch-screen monitor, a credit card reader and an integrated printer. The kiosk has several advantages over traditional stamp vending machines that need substantial security and high maintenance requirements. The machine will also use Neopost Online's proprietary secure self-adhesive labels.

Filmfly places kiosks in movie theaters

Article Abstract:

Filmfly Entertainment has installed TouchPoint kiosks at movie theaters, which allow movie goers to buy music CDs, DVDs, clothing and accessories while accessing entertainment news. The kiosks are already in place at Famous Players' Paramount Theater in Toronto, Canada. Famous Players VP Jeff Rush said the kiosks will provide customers with better value for their money. Russ added that moviegoers can immediately order the movie's soundtrack through the kiosks.

Zoom Systems launches E-stations

Zoom Systems, based in San Francisco, CA, has introduced a line of smart delivery systems called E-Stations that allow consumers to buy a broad range of products anywhere, anytime. ATM-like E-Stations have interactive touch screens for easy access to products and product selection information. E-Stations offer the type of information offered through the Internet and the immediate product delivery offered by vending machines.
