Unhappy campers

Article Abstract:

Eurocamp is involved in camping and short holidays and has issued a warning of lower bookings for 1996 compared with 1995. Demand for Eurocamp holidays in France has been affected by the high value of the French franc. Eurocamp's shares have underperformed and are below the price at the company's flotation in 1991. The company has acquired Superbreak which could account for 50% of Eurocamp's profit for 1996, but this will not compensate enough for problems with Eurocamp's main activity.
