Variety of online marketers fuel photo e-commerce
Article Abstract:
Several photographic equipment manufacturers have formed alliances with online retailers to market and sell their products over the Internet. These include partnerships of Ritz Camera Centers Inc and photo.com Inc, Eastman Kodak Co and eBay Inc, and PhotoHighway.com and HyperZine Communications Inc. The websites created by these alliances are categorized into five, namely, information-only sites, direct photo marketing sites, online photofinishing sites, photo community sites and sites that offer free-use of stock photographs, decorative holiday templates and imaging software applications.

These include three photo-grade media Universal II Media Glossy, Satin and Matte RC papers that have been upgraded to 7-mil base from 6 mils for the look and feel of photographic paper. The company also launched Archive MonoKrome Ink, a new 4K pigment- based ink in four dilutions of black.

Photo-Me International has introdced its silver-halide processing digital photo kiosk under the SanDisk name. Aside from printing photos. the kiosk allows consumers to upload personal files of digital pictures either from the kiosk or from their home computers to the DPI photographic protal partners. The kiosk accepts CompactFlash, SmartMedia, MultiMedia and Secure flash memory cards.
