Vega has had to replace three contracts from the UK defense ministry and this has not been easy. Kelvin Harrison, the managing director, was removed in Apr 1996 and has not been replaced. Operating margins have dropped due to higher administrative costs and increased hardware content in bigger contracts. The company is seeking to secure a contract for the avionics training system for the Tornado aircraft. Vega's profit is forecast at 4 million pounds sterling for 1996.
