Verity: trumpet major

Verity produces loudspeakers and includes Wharfdale which has seen a rise in turnover of 81% with an improvement in margins. The group also includes Premier Percussion which is increasing production and has undergone rationalization. Verity is seeking to grow through an acquisition, and is co-operating with Mitutuyo from Japan on a consumer measuring device. Verity's profit is forecast at 3 million pounds sterling for 1995 by Peel Hunt, which has upgraded its forecast.

Sound future

TGI produces loudspeakers and has seen a drop in its stock price with results showing that growth was not sustained for 2nd half 1996 to 1997. The stock price fall has exaggerated the importance of the results. The company has been hit by the high value of pound sterling and has performed well bearing this in mind. Exports account for 76% of TGI sales. The company's pre-tax profit is forecast at 2.7 milion pounds sterling for 1997 to 1998 by Albert E Sharp.

Verity: sound news worth a bet

Article Abstract:

Verity produces loudspeakers and has respected brands but has been affected by financial and management problems. The company has seen a doubling of its share price following the announcement of a flat speaker with a number of applications. The new NXT speaker can be used in both cars and computers, and Verity has turned NXT into a separate firm. The licensing revenue from this product offere great potential. NXT could be demerged over the longer term.
