Wassall

Article Abstract:

Wassall has been hit by copper price changes which have affected General cable, a supplier of copper wire. Conglomerate corporations have become unfashionable but Wassall has a good record for growth of long-term earnings. The company can use cash handbacks and demergers to avoid some of the problems associated with conglomerates. Wassall's profit is forecast at 59 million pounds sterling for 1996 and 76 million pounds for 1997 by Merrill Lynch.
