Well developed

Article Abstract:

The commercial real estate market in Manchester, England, is large and tough. The market is growing, and Manchester is more important than other regioal centers. Cobbetts is a Manchester law firm that specialises in this market. The company was able to retain staff during the 1990s recession which has given it an advantage and a wide variety of clients. Cobbetts has avoided being too dependent on developer clients. Other law firms involved in this market include Vaudreys and Halliwells.

An occupiers' market

Article Abstract:

The market for office real estate in Leeds, England, is calmer in 1997 than in 1987 when speculative developments were common. Rents are lower in Bradford, England, which sees itself as complementing the market in Leeds. Demand for retail space is high in Leeds, where some 89 multiples are reportedly seeking space in the center of the city. A regional development agency will be set up and this should help the real estate market in both cities.
