Why spurning food biotech has become a liability

Article Abstract:

Some major food companies are eliminating gene-spliced ingredients from their products thus making foods that are less safe and wholesome for consumers. Agricultural processors and food companies may face at least two kinds of civic liability for their refusal to purchase and use-fungus-resistant, gene-spliced plant varieties as well as other superior products.

Who is driving biotechnology acceptance?

Article Abstract:

The widespread bans imposed by food companies on genetically modified (GM) foods in Europe has underscored the public acceptance woes of agrobiotechnology. The conclusion states that invoking consumer concerns cannot explain the conduct of the global food industry in the case of GM food bans.

FDA's cloning report bypasses ethics, exposes European dilemma

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has completed its study into the risks of meat and milk from cloned animals and their progeny, thereby supporting their safety. The dilemma faced by the European Commission due to FDA's report on food products by cloned animals is discussed.
