"You're live on the Garden Hotline." (radio program)

Gardeners in New York can receive instant answers to their questions by listening and calling the Garden Hotline radio program. Horticulturist Ralph Snodsmith is the host of this live talk show which has a variety of well-known guests. Snodsmith also receives letters requesting answers, as many as 13,000 per week.

Pesticides are now available in convenient, ready to use containers, that require no mixing or transferring to other containers. The market for these products includes not only the apartment or condo-dweller, but also suburban gardeners, and even the large scale suburban and rural gardeners.

Lawn service contracting: threat or opportunity for retailers?

Article Abstract:

Although lawn care contractors can be a threat to retail nurseries and garden centers, the contractors only have about 20% of the market. This leaves two ways for the retailer to gain; he either enters the business himself, or he caters to the contractor.
