Bridges says workers of the future must flex and change with the needs of the job market

Article Abstract:

Workers of the future will need to adapt to changes wrought by dejobbing of the workplace, according to William Bridges. Jobs in the conventional sense will be non-existent and workers will be paid for tasks accomplished. They will perform multiple functions and market their skills for specific project based jobs. Recruitment will be based on workers' desires, abilities, temperament and assets. In this work environment, job titles will become worthless. Workers currently are in a period of transition. For those holding on to a narrow job view, the process will be painful but necessary.
