Patterned growth of well-aligned carbon nanotubes: a soft-lithographic approach

Article Abstract:

Research concerning the production of patterned carbon nanotube arrays which are aligned at right angles to the surface are presented. The soft lithographic techniques involved include micromoulding and microcontact printing.

Plasma activation of carbon nanotubes for chemical modification

Article Abstract:

A new strategy for chemical modification of carbon nanotubes through plasma activation and subsequent reactions characteristics of the plasma induced surface functionalities is presented. The resultant material possesses a highly hydrophilic surface with the integrity of the nanotube structure being largely maintained.

3D carbon nanotube architectures on glass substrate by stamp printing bimetallic Fe-Pt/polymer catalyst

Article Abstract:

A method that is feasible and simple for controlled fabrication of 3D carbon nanotube (CNT) architectures on glass at low temperatures (550-650 degrees Celsius) on a large scale by stamp printing bimetallic Fe-Pt/polymer catalyst onto the substrate is described. It is shown, the control of concentration of the catalysts and the stamp printing substrates allowed the fabrication desired CNTs patterns with controlled 3D architectures.
