Adsorption at liquid interfaces: The generalized Langmuir isotherm and interfacial structure

Article Abstract:

The adsorption isotherms and thermodynamics of pentafluorobenzoic acid (PFBA) at the octane-water interface were studied. Substitution of one adsorbed octane molecule requires approximately three adsorbed PFBA molecules indicating that the orientation of solvent molecules at the interface was different from the bulk solution and the adsorption of PFBA at the octane-water interface was accompanied by a reduction in the attraction between adsorbed PFBA molecules as the pH decreases to the acidic region.

Understanding adsorption phenomena: Investigation of the dye-cellulose interaction

Article Abstract:

A study was conducted to understand the structural factors that control the adsorption of acid dyes onto cotton (cellulose), the adsorption of 15 acid dyes from water. The adsorption enthalpy is controlled by the position of the water-solubilizing groups on the dye as these groups lift the aromatic dye core from the cellulose surface and high adsorption enthalpies are provided by dyes which allow as much as the aromatic core to come close to the cellulose surface as possible.

Terbium luminescence sensitized through three-photon excitation in a self-assembled unlinked antenna

Article Abstract:

The organic-terbium hybrid compound created with the azido molecule, 2-methoxy benzoic acid tris-(2-methoxybenzoyl)hydrazide, which demonstrates three-photon-excited green emission, is reported.
