Adsorption of 2-aminobenzothiazole on colloidal silver particles: An experimental and theoretical surface-enhanced Raman scattering study

Article Abstract:

Surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) spectra of the biologically important 2-aminobenzothiazole molecule adsorbed on silver hydrosols are compared with its FTIR spectrum and normal Raman spectroscopy (NRS) spectrum in the bulk and in solution. Concentration dependent SERS spectra of the molecule reveal the existence of two types of vertically adsorbed species on colloidal silver particles.

Interaction of ovalbumin with phospholipids Langmuir-Blodgett film

Article Abstract:

A study examined the interaction of native ovalbumin (OVA) with 1,2-dipahmitoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphocholine (DPPC) Langmuir-Blodgett monolayer at the air-water interface. Analysis with adsorption kinetics reveals that the protein adsorption is a one-step process and the amount of protein adsorbed depends on the concentration of protein at the water subphase.

Adsorption-induced conformational changes of antifreeze glycoprotein at the ice/water interface

Article Abstract:

The attenuated total reflection (ATR)-FTIR spectroscopic studies of backbone conformation of antifreeze glycoprotein (AFGP) molecules adsorbed at the ice/water interface is presented. The results indicate a clear increase in the [alpha]-helical fraction of AFGP at the ice/water interface in the frozen solution.
