Bacillus subtilis assisted assembly of gold nanoparticles into long conductive nodous ribbons

Article Abstract:

Bacillus subtilis assisted assembly of gold nanoparticles into nodous ribbons where gold particles were assembled onto the surface of Bacillus subtilis by keeping the mixture of the nanoparticles and the bacteria in the dark without disturbance for over a month is described. During the ageing process the bacteria connected to each other end-to-end to form long wires and the resulting composite nanowires collapsed into ribbons with nodes on their backbones and conductive with Ohmic behavior.

Electrochemical growth of two-dimensional gold nanostructures on a thin polypyrrole film modified ITO electrode

Article Abstract:

Two-dimensional gold nanostructures was fabricated by electrochemical deposition of gold nanoparticles onto indium tin oxide (ITO) glass substrate modified with thin polypyrrole film. By controlling the electrodeposition conditions, gold nanoparticles with dendritic rod, sheet, flower-like, and pinecone-like structures were generated and the flower-like gold nanoparticles showed high catalytic activity on electrochemical reduction of oxygen.

Self-assembly of active IrO2 catalyst on an ITO electrode for efficient electrochemical water oxidation

Article Abstract:

The citrate-stabilized IrO2 colloid was self-assembled onto an indium tin oxide (ITO) electrode to form a monolayer of the colloidal IrO2 particles when dipped in the colloidal solution. The self-assembly could be achieved by a chemical interactions between carboxylate groups on the citrate stabilizer and hydroxyl groups on the ITO surface to form ester bonds.
