Calorimetric and dynamic light-scattering investigation of cationic surfactant-DNA complexes

Article Abstract:

The conformational behavior of DNA chains after thermal melting in the presence of a cationic surfactant at different concentrations was investigated by means of combined calorimetric and dynamic light-scattering measurements. It was found that although the surfactant-free DNA form undergoes the usual thermal stability, the surfactant-saturated DNA from assumes a rather compact globular conformation and presents a very high thermal stability.

Polymorphism of DNA/Multi-cationic lipid complexes driven by temperature and salts

Article Abstract:

A study was done on the structural polymorphism of DNA/lipopolyamine (multi-cationic lipid) complexes by using X-ray diffraction and cryo-electron microscopy. The series of experiments reported show that the polymorphism of the DNA lipid complexes is driven by the initial state of the cationic lipid.

Conformation change of poly(dG-dC).(dG-dC) in cationic polyamine liposome complexes: effect of charge density and flexibility of amine chains in headgroups

Article Abstract:

Transfection mechanisms can be understood by identifying DNA conformation in delivery cargoes. Systematic studies of DNA conformations in various cationic liposome complexes may help developing improved gene delivery systems.
