Catalysis and temperature dependence on the formation of ZnO nanoparticles and of zinc acetate derivatives prepared by the sol-gel route

Article Abstract:

The study was done on the chemical and structural nature of powders prepared from the zinc acetate-derived percursor using the sol-gel route. The results suggest that the formation of zinc compounds is controlled by the equilibrium between hydrolysis-condensation and complexation-reprecipitation reactions.

Zinc selenide nanoribbons and nanowires

Article Abstract:

The synthesis of zinc selenide (ZnSe) nanoribbons and nanowires with their microstructural characteristics using laser ablation of ZnSe powders is reported. The study reveals that the growth of the nanoribbons and nanowires follows the vapor-solid and vapor-liquid-solid mechanism, respectively.

Multi-nucleation-based formation of oriented zinc oxide microcrystals and films in aqueous solutions

Article Abstract:

A wet-chemical deposition method of synthesizing highly oriented, transparent ZnO films on a crystalline template is described. Multi-nucleation and the subsequent growth of ZnO leads to the formation of thin hexagonal platelike ZnO crystals spread over the template film.
