Catalysts for the oxygen reduction from heat-treated iron(III) tetramethoxyphenylporphyrin chloride: structure and stability of active sites

Article Abstract:

The preparation of structure and stability of an iron-based catalyst for the oxygen reduction reaction by heat treatment of carbon-supported iron(III) tetramethoxyphenylporphyrin chloride are investigated. A degradation by H2O2, which is a by product of the oxygen reduction, can explain the decrease of catalytic activity during longevity tests.

X-Ray absorption fine structure analysis of the local environment of Fe in Fe/A1-MFI

Article Abstract:

An MFI zeolite framework containing iron and aluminum was prepared and characterized by x-ray absorption spectroscopy. Extended x-ray absorption fine structure analysis indicated that in the as-prepared zeolite Fe is present in the framework but migrated to extra framework sites upon thermal activation at elevated temperature.

X-ray absorption fine structure characterization of the local structure of Fe in Fe-ZSM-5

Article Abstract:

XAFS was used to investigate the local structure of Fe in Fe-ZSM-5. The iron in Fe-ZSM-5 is present in the form of isolated iron cations.
