New nanoparticle formation under UV impact on acetaldehyde vapor in nitrogen and air flow

Article Abstract:

The kinetics of photolysis and photonucleation of acetaldehyde (AA) vapor in air and in nitrogen are studied along with the physical and chemical characterization of the formed ultrafine aerosols particles. Acetaldehyde (AA) is a typical combustion-generated pollutant from the diesel engines and power plant plumes, whose quantitative estimations can help to create realistic models of atmospheric chemistry and atmospheric pollutant control strategies.

Acetaldehyde on Pt(111) and Pt/Sn(111): A DFT study of the adsorption structures and of the vibrational spectra

Article Abstract:

The two possible adsorption geometries of acetaldehyde on Pt(111) and Pt/Sn(111) by means of calculations based on the density functional theory are compared. The various interactions and the relative stability of the species on Pt and PtSn are explained by the density of states curves.

Direct formation of acetaldehyde from ethane using carbon dioxide as a novel oxidant over oxidized diamond-supported catalysts

Article Abstract:

A method for producing acetaldehyde directly from ethane using carbon dioxide id developed. The selective oxidation of C2H6 was studied with the help of C2H6 over metal-oxide-loaded catalysts.
