Catalytic activity of platinum on ruthenium electrodes with modified (electro)chemical states

Article Abstract:

Pt on Ru thing-film electrodes with various (electro)chemical states designed by the sputtering method is used to investigate the effect of Ru states on the catalytic activity of Pt. It is concluded that an enhancement on methanol electro oxidation on the Pt is responsible for Ru metallic and/or oxidation sites compared to pure Pt without any Ru states.

In situ surface enhanced Raman spectroscopy on electrodes with platinum and palladium nanoparticle ensembles

Article Abstract:

A study was conducted, with in situ surface enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS), to investigate the general case of pure nanoparticles of platinum and palladium deposited randomly at a conducting substrate. The result suggests the use of nanoparticle-on-electrode approach for the spectroelectrochemical studies of platinum and palladium nanoparticles.

Probing the interaction of poly(vinylpyrrolidone) with platinum nanocrystals by UV-Raman and FTIR

Article Abstract:

A deep UV-Raman and FTIR spectroscopy is used to investigate the vibrational spectra of platinum nanoparticles capped with poly(N-vinylpyrrolidone) (PVP) and compared with pure PVP. It is concluded that under oxidizing conditions, both PVP/ Pt and PVP degrade to form amorphous carbon.
