Characterization of methyl viologen in the channels of zeolite L

Article Abstract:

A study was conducted to analyze the loading of a commercial and of a self-synthesized zeolite L with methyl viologen (MV2+) present in different amounts of aqueous zeolite suspensions. Physical measurements were carried out using a Perkin-Elmer Lambda 14 spectrophotometer. Results indicated that the two pyridyl rings of the intercalated MV2+ are twisted. Findings also showed that studying MV2+ intercalated in the channels of zeolite L is a good way of advancing knowledge concerning supramolecularly organized dye molecules in zeolite L channels.

Transfer of electronic excitation energy between dye molecules in the channels of zeolite L

Article Abstract:

A study was conducted to analyze the intercalation of dye molecules into the linear channels of zeolite L using fluorescence microscopy. The dye concentration in the zeolite microcrystals were determined from the amount and concentration of the applied dye solution. Experimental results indicated the effectiveness of fluorescence microscopy to determine the intercalation of dye molecules into zeolite l.

Orientation of fluorescent dyes in the nano channels of zeolite L

Article Abstract:

Fluorescence microscopy and single-crystal imaging is used to analyze the orientation of the S1<- So pi, pi* transition dipole moments of oxonine (Ox+), pyronine (Py+) and POPOP (5,5'-diphenyl-2,2'-p-phenylenebis(oxazole)) in the channels of zeolite L crystals.
