Charge transport through osmium-containing redox polymers in nitrophenyl-based solvents: effect of solvent size

Article Abstract:

A study was conducted to analyze osmium-containing redox polymers in five nitrophenyl-based solvents. The dynamics of charge transport through the redox polymers were characterized using the electron-hopping theory. The dipolarity of the nitrophenyl-based solvents were determined by the Abboud-Kamlet-Taft solvatochromic comparison technique. Experimental results indicated that the major factor influencing the rate of charge transport correlated with the size of the nitrophenyl-based solvents.

Inherent and cooperative photomechanical motions in monolayers of an azobenzene containing polymer at the air-water interface

Article Abstract:

Research was conducted to examine the inherent and cooperative photomechanical motions in monolayers of an azobenzene containing polymer at the air-water interface. Surface potential measurements, UV-visible absorption spectroscopy, Brewster angle microscopy and the macroscopic area estimations with a Langmuir film balance were used for the experiments. Results indicate that the experimental approaches all support the molecular motional model of the 6Az10-PVA monolayer.

Chain mobility and cation coordination in the polymer electrolytes M(N(CF3SO2)2)PEOn with M = Mg, Ca, Sr, and Ba

Article Abstract:

A study was conducted to analyze the poly(ethylene oxide)-based solid electrolytes M(N(CF3SO2)2)2PEOn with M = Mg, Ca, Sr, and Ba, using proton nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy. The mutual solvent technique was utilized to prepare the polymer electrolyte films. The Bruker MSL spectrometer was utilized to carry out the spectroscopy studies. Results indicated nearly equal fractions of coordinated and noncoordinated chain segments.
