Combined theoretical and FTIR spectroscopic studies on hydrogen adsorption on the zeolites Na-FER ad K-FER

Article Abstract:

An investigation was performed on the interaction between molecular hydrogen and alkali-metal exchanged zeolites Na-FER and K-FER at a low temperature by combining variable-temperature infrared spectroscopy and theoretical calculations by using a periodic density functional theory model. Calculations showed a similar interaction energy for both site types, and similar structures of adsorption complexes.

Experimental and quantum chemical studies on the adsorption of carbon dioxide on alkali-metal-exchanged ZSM-5 zeolites

Article Abstract:

The adsorption of carbon dioxide onto M-ZSM-5 zeolites (M-Li, Na, K, Cs) is studied with the help of FTIR spectroscopy and adsorption microcalorimetry. Their relevant catalytic properties stem from a right combination of acidity and shape selectivity, as well as from the variety of extra framework cations, which can be used to balance the negative electric charge of the zeolite framework.

Spectroscopic and thermodynamic characterization of strontium carbonyls formed upon carbon monoxide adsorption on the zeolite Sr-Y

Article Abstract:

The use of a variable-temperature IR cell that allows the simultaneous measurement of the temperature, pressure, and coverage (intensity) of CO species has enabled, through a systematic application of the van't Hoff relationship, the determination of the standard enthalpy of formation of four types of Sr(super 2+) carbonyls occuring in the CO/Sr-Y system.
