Composite polyether electrolytes with Lewis acid type additives

Article Abstract:

The effects of AlBr3, AlCl3 and alpha-Al2O3 on the ultrastructure and conductivity of electrolytes based on LiClO4 and polyethers were investigated. The results were examined in terms of Lewis acid-base interactions that take place between various chemical moieties within the composite polyether electrolytes. Experimental results showed that aluminum halides form complexes with the ClO4(super -) anion functioning as plasticizing agents for polyether matrices. It was also found that adding Lewis acid causes a decrease in the degree of crystallinity of poly(ethylene oxide)-based electrolytes.

Color stabilization of malvidin 3-glucoside: self-aggregation of the flavylium cation and copigmentation with the z-chalcone form

Article Abstract:

A study was conducted to analyze aggregation processes associated with the color stabilization of the natural anthocyamin, malvidin 3-glucoside using 1H nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy. The Bruker AMX-300 or Bruker AMX-500 spectrometers were utilized to determine the 1H NMR spectra. In addition, the multiparametric minimization routine was used to fit the curves representing the pH dependence of the molar fractions of the different species with derived theoretical computations.
